Startopstelling: Alonso kan tifosi gek maken
MONZA - Over enkele uren gaat de Grand Prix van Italië van start. Fernando Alonso bezorgde Ferrari de pole position op eigen bodem, voor McLaren F1-coureur Jenson Button en teamgenoot Felipe Massa. Klassementsleider Lewis Hamilton werd vijfde. Na afloop van de kwalificatie werden Timo Glock en Vitaly Petrov vijf plekken teruggezet. Glock voor onreglementaire werkzaamheden aan zijn versnellingsbak, Petrov voor het blokkeren van Glock.
