Officieel STATEMENT van de Formule 1: veiligheid grootste prioriteit

De betrokken partijen FIA, de Formula 1 en de Australian Grand Prix Corporation hebben in een verklaring laten weten dat de Grand Prix van Australië is afgelast. Eerder trok het team van McLaren zich al terug uit de eerste Formule 1 race van het seizoen doordat een teamlid besmet was met het Coronavirus. In een overleg met de organisatie van de Australian Grand Prix, Formule 1, FIA en de overige teams is nu dan besloten dat het evenement niet doorgaat, zo is te lezen in de verklaring.
