Nick Cassidy vervangt Giancarlo Fisichella bij Ferrari: "Ik ben blij en vereerd"
Nick Cassidy maakt dit jaar zijn debuut in de FIA World Endurance Championship. De coureur gaat in de GTE-Am rijden voor AF Corse en neemt plaats naast Thomas Flohr en Francesco Castellacci in de Ferrari 488 GTE Evo. De Nieuw-Zeelander vervangt voormalig F1-coureur Giancarlo Fisichella. Het afgelopen jaar reed Cassidy in de DTM voor AF Corse.
“Ik ben blij en vereerd om me bij de FIA World Endurance Championship te voegen met Ferrari, AF Corse, Thomas Flohr en Francesco Castellacci”, aldus de Kiwi op Instagram. “Ik kijk uit naar wat ongelofelijk races met fantastische partners.” AF Corse rijdt dit jaar met drie auto’s in de GTE-Am klasse. Daarnaast voert het Italiaanse team ook de operatie uit van de twee fabrieks-Ferrari’s. Recent werd daarvoor Antonio Fuoco als nieuwe coureur aangekondigd.
